Credit Card Bank
Has your credit-card bank
ever made you angry? I mean really infuriated to the point where you just want a little
revenge for how you were treated?

Money when Bills Arrive
Scott,
I get paid twice a month. My first paycheck pays the mortgage and
the 2nd pays the rest of my bills. The problem is that I get paid on
the 1st and 15th. A lot of my debt is due between the 1st and the
15th. I have no choice but to pay late. Will my creditors change my
due date if I ask them to, if not, what else would you suggest?

Student
and Credit Cards
Scott,
I'm so lost! I'm about to obtain my first credit card, and I do not
know where to start or even how many to take out. What deal is the
best? Do I look at the APR or the nice rewards they have? I'm just
trying to establish a good credit history, because I am aware that
you need one if you want to eventually buy a house/car. Thanks so
much for your help. Meri

My
spouse doesn't agree!
Scott,
I have debts that have different interest rates: 9 percent, 10
percent, 28 percent and 29 percent. I want to consolidate my debt at
16 percent interest rate. But my spouse doesn't agree! William

Second
Mortgage Rate and APR
Scott,
Why is it a different price for the
quoted loan interest rate, my mortgage company Quicken Loans, quoted
me 6.55 on a second. Then when I get the papers to sign, the APR
fair credit paper states 7.1 for the interest rate. Is the mortgage
company trying to be dishonest and not really give me the rate
quoted? I don't understand; please help me. Thank you! Pam

Equity
Issues
Scott,
Problem is, our 2nd mortgage is a LOC
and the APR is drowning us! We want to pay off the LOC and our
credit card debt and have some cash to invest in renovations.
We are a single income family and as far
as debt to income ratio is concerned, we're not looking so good.
What to do? Alison

Card Binding Arbitration: When Ignorance Isn't Bliss
Few
people want to go to court, but there are times when it is necessary
to preserve your rights and to fight unfair or illegal treatment.
Watch out for mandatory arbitration clauses in your credit card
agreements, which can prevent you from having your day in court.

Applying
for credit cards
Scott,
How often can you apply for credit cards? Does it look bad on your
credit report if you apply for many credit cards? My husband and I
have 5 credit cards. Our credit rating is good, so most of our
interest on our cards are between 5 and 7%. We owe $19,000 and I am
currently emptying one of our cards so that we can transfer the
entire $19,000 using their 2.99% life-of-the balance rate. Thanks to
your many tips in your newsletter! Maria

Running
argument regarding credit card debt
Scott,
My husband and I have a running argument regarding credit card debt.
He gets very upset when I look at the offers we receive in the mail
to see if the APR is lower then any of the cards we currently have
and even think about transferring the balance. I am always
interested in the 0% offers, but he says that creditors don't like
to see you transfer balances over and over to 0% because it shows
that you can't handle the balance "load". Tracy

Card Minimum Payments
Gary,
A couple of months ago I read an article about getting finances
under control. According to the article, you can double the minimum
monthly payment on a revolving charge and that account will be paid
in full in 36 months regardless of the amount. How could that be
possible? Especially considering how "minimum" most
minimum monthly payments are. Gail E.
