Opinion of the New Bankruptcy Bill |
The Consumer Federation of America (CFA) today released the results of a national poll showing that only about one-quarter of all Americans want President Bush to sign bankruptcy legislation that is currently awaiting consideration by a House-Senate Conference Committee. The poll also showed that many Americans have not been made aware of controversial features of the legislation. The poll of 1,046 people conducted by the Opinion Research Corporation International found that only 28% of those polled think that President Bush should sign the legislation, while 49% said that the President should veto it. (23% said that they did not know.) |
